That time I tried a purple toner on orange hair and got green instead

So I had this client with level 7 orange hair from a bad box dye job. I figured a purple toner would neutralize it like it always does on yellow. Well, I left it on for 12 minutes and it pulled straight green. Turns out orange hair needs blue toner not purple. Learned that lesson the hard way. Has anyone else messed up color theory and had to fix a weird shade mid-service?

12 minutes? Girl, you were giving that hair a full spa day when it just needed a quick drive-thru fix. Bet the green was a nice surprise though, really ties the room together.

Read somewhere that fashion people are calling that shade "e-girl green" now or something. Makes sense with how much that color pops on camera. Bet you didn't even notice until you saw the photo timeline.
