Thought purple shampoo was a gimmick until I saw the before and after on a client

I had this older lady come in with brassier-than-normal highlights, and she swore by some drugstore purple shampoo I totally doubted. After three washes over two weeks, her hair looked like she'd just left the salon with fresh toner. Am I the only one who side-eyed purple products for years before finally caving?

@wendy_carr yeah I actually ended up switching to a different brand after that first bottle ran out. The drugstore stuff worked fine but I wanted something with less sulfates since my scalp gets dry. Did you notice any difference in how fast the brassiness came back after switching brands?

Thought purple shampoo was a gimmick" Same here honestly. I read somewhere that it works because purple and yellow are opposites on the color wheel, so it kind of cancels out the brass. Total game changer once I actually tried it. Did you stick with that same drugstore brand or find another one since then?
