TIL a flat iron in a pinch can double as a lash curler in a hotel room

I was in Nashville last month for a wedding and forgot my curler at home, so I warmed my flat iron on low and used it on my lashes with a tissue barrier. It actually worked pretty well, but I'm curious if anyone else has done this or if I just got lucky without singeing anything.
