Wasted $180 on that viral no-heat curling headband set

I bought those silicone curling headbands everyone on Instagram was raving about, thinking I'd save time on blowouts. After three tries with different wrapping techniques, my hair came out a frizzy mess each time and the bands left deep dents that took hours to fade. Has anyone actually gotten these to work without looking like you slept on a rope?

Wet hair is a total trap with those things, it never dries right and just gets stringy. But here's my real question - did you let it dry completely before you took them out? I left mine in overnight once and woke up to damp spots still in the middle, so the curls never set. What kind of hair do you have too, because I've got thick coarse hair and I'm starting to think these only work for people with fine hair. The marketing photos definitely don't show the dent situation you're talking about, that part drove me crazy.

Did you try damp or dry hair because that honestly makes a huge difference with those things?

Wait is that why my hair looked like I wrestled a greasy raccoon?
