I hated black and white movies until my power went out during Casablanca
Last Friday my power cut out around 9pm in my apartment in Boise and my laptop still had 40 percent battery, so I pulled up Casablanca because it was already downloaded. I almost skipped it since black and white usually makes me zone out, but with no phone notifications and no lights on I actually just watched it. The scene where everyone sings the anthem in Rick's bar hit me way harder than any color movie I've seen in a while, maybe because there was nothing else to look at. Now I'm wondering if I've been wrong about old movies this whole time, or if I just needed a blackout to sit still. What's the one movie that got you past a bias you had?
