Put on Jaws at a truck stop in Ogallala and the diner cook ruined the ending for the whole room
So last Tuesday I'm parked overnight at a Sapp Bros in Ogallala, Nebraska, and I head into the diner to eat and kill time. I pulled up Jaws on my phone and set it on the table with my headphones half in, just watching the opening beach scene while I ate my chicken fried steak. The cook comes out to wipe the counter and sees the screen, points at it, and says loud enough for everyone to hear, 'the shark blows up at the end, that's the only good part.' Keep in mind this is a booth with like five other drivers in earshot and two of them had never seen it. I told him you don't do that, you don't spoil a film in a public room like that, it's a rule. He just laughed and went back to the grill like he'd done nothing wrong. I finished my food, paid, and watched the rest in my cab with the door shut, and honestly the mood was gone for me that night. Do you call out people who spoil stuff in public, or do you just let it go and move on?
