Saw a marathon runner drinking a Coke at mile 20 and it broke my brain
I was standing on 4th street in Louisville last month watching a friend run her first marathon, and this guy near the front grabs a full sugar Coke from a spectator and chugs it like it's water. I always thought you had to drink that stuff in a movie to show a character is unhealthy, like in Dirty Harry where he's eating a hot dog with a soda at 7am. Now I'm wondering if every movie has been lying to me about what a training montage should look like, so what drink does Hollywood always get wrong?
Movies do this all the time with food in general, not just drinks. A guy in a business suit is always stressed and grabbing a whiskey at noon, or the sad single girl eats a whole pint of ice cream on the couch. Real life is way less dramatic, people drink Coke at mile 20 because their body is screaming for sugar and salt, not because they're falling apart.
