Appreciation post: A new guy on a site in Tacoma changed my mind about voice commands
We were setting a big HVAC unit on a tight roof, and he asked over the radio why we never used the voice control on the new cranes. I told him it was a gimmick, but he showed me how he could call out exact moves while keeping both hands on the load, and it actually worked. Has anyone else given the voice stuff a real try on a complex pick?

That "gimmick" line is exactly what I used to say too.

Hey @thomas.piper, but sometimes those gimmicks are the only thing that gets people to pay attention. Worked on you, didn't it?

Ever think the real problem is that voice commands just make the old hands feel slow? They see a kid doing it smooth and it hits their pride, not the tech. That's why they call it a gimmick instead of learning it.
