Bought a $250 anti-vibration mat for my cab and it made a huge difference
I was getting tired of my whole cab shaking when I set up near a highway job in Phoenix. Picked up a heavy rubber mat from a local equipment shop for $250 and bolted it under my seat. Cut down the rattle by at least half and my back feels way better after an 10 hour shift. Anyone else try these or just stick with the factory setup?

Wait, you paid $250 for a rubber mat? That's insane. I got a thick horse stall mat from a farm store for like $40 and cut it to fit. Works just as good at stopping the shake and my back is fine after a 12 hour shift. I'd say you got ripped off big time.

Why would you trust a horse stall mat to stop vibrations from a heavy industrial machine though? The rubber compound in those is way harder and less dense than what you get in a proper anti-vibration mat. You're basically standing on a cheap piece of recycled tire rubber that'll get brittle and crack in a year or two. A $250 mat is designed to absorb specific frequencies and hold up to constant grease and chemical spills. Your $40 stall mat might feel fine now but give it some time and you'll be peeling up bits of rubber and replacing it every few months. Different materials for different jobs, man.
