Can we talk about the difference between a 3-part and 4-part line for tower crane rigging?
I used a 4-part on a 12-ton lift in Dallas last month and the control was night and day compared to a standard 3-part. What's your go-to setup for heavy, precise picks?

Always go 4-part for anything over 10 tons.

Yeah Allen's right, it's a game changer. That extra part gives you way more fine control when you're trying to set something heavy right on the mark. I won't even look at a 3-part for a tight pick anymore.

Man I had a job last year where we were setting a 12 ton HVAC unit on a roof curb with like 6 inches of clearance on each side. Tried it with a 3-part first and it was a nightmare swinging everywhere. Switched to the 4-part and it was night and day different. That extra sheave just kills all the drift and lets you micro adjust without fighting the load. Now I keep two 4-parts in the truck for anything over 8 tons minimum. Way less stressful when you're on a ladder spotting and the foreman is yelling.
