Had a main hoist brake fail on a 50 ton Grove last Tuesday. What's your emergency procedure?

Our yard had a similar scare last year with a 30 ton crane. The aux brake caught it fine, no drama. Makes me wonder how often these procedures are actually needed.

Man, a main hoist brake failure on a 50 tonner is the stuff of nightmares. That immediate gut drop when you feel it go is something else. Our procedure drills into hitting the auxiliary brake first, then trying to lower the load slow and controlled if you can. Really hope everyone got clear and you got it settled without a major drop.
