Just lost a full day's pay on a bad rigging plan

I was on a job in Phoenix last month and tried to save time by using the same rigging setup from a similar lift. The load shifted mid-air and I had to set it down, then re-rig the whole thing. It cost me about $400 in lost time and a serious talk from the site boss. What's your go-to method for checking a rigging plan on a new site?

Walk the whole path like linda335 said, even if it's a boring step. In my experience, the biggest mistakes come from assuming things are the same when they're not. Your mileage may vary but I've noticed this pattern applies everywhere, not just on job sites. Like when I grab the same tool out of habit without checking if it's actually right for the situation.

Wait you tried to use the same setup without checking the new site first? That's wild. I always walk the whole path and check the ground myself.

Yeah, that used to be me. Your comment actually makes a lot of sense now.
