Spent 3 hours trying to level a jib crane yesterday before realizing the floor was the problem
The concrete slab had a 2 degree slope I never noticed in 5 years of working there, has anyone else run into a site prep issue that ate up way more time than the actual lift?

Yeah the floor guy probably poured it level with the roof drain instead of true level.

...and the funny thing is we spent a full day checking the crane's baseplate bolts and shimming everything before someone thought to put a level on the floor itself. I had a similar thing happen with a conveyor line we installed about ten years back. We kept adjusting the frame and scratching our heads because it was out of square by almost half an inch over twenty feet. Turns out the contractor had poured the slab with a slight crown right in the middle of the bay, like they were trying to make a parking lot instead of a warehouse floor. We ended up having to grind down a whole strip of concrete before we could even bolt the thing down. It's always something you never think to look at until you've wasted half a shift on it.
