Tried a new tagline setup on a tight site in Phoenix and it went sideways

Had to place a generator on a rooftop last week, space was maybe 15 feet clear. Usually I'd use a single line, but I tried a double tagline setup for more control. The second line got caught on a vent pipe I didn't see from my cab. Whole load swung about 3 feet before I got it settled. Learned you can have too much of a good thing with extra rigging if you don't have a perfect visual. Anyone else run into this on a congested lift?

Ever hear about my buddy's tagline snag, @wesley78?

Man, that's why I hate blind spots on a lift.

Remember that story about the guy who got his foot run over? My buddy saw it happen last year. He was watching a tech back a truck out of the bay. The lift post totally blocked the view of a guy walking by. Tech never saw him, tire went right over his boot. Broke three bones. Just a total freak accident because of that one blind spot.
