Had a week where every writing prompt I tried actually worked out
Last October I was stuck on a prompt about a detective who solves cases by remembering smells. I figured I'd just write a paragraph and move on but ended up with 3,000 words in one sitting. The next day a prompt about a time traveler stuck in a laundromat gave me a short story I actually liked for the first time in months. By Friday I had four solid drafts and I still don't know why that week clicked. Has anyone else had a random streak like that where your brain just cooperates for no reason?

Man I swear I read a study once about how creative streaks are tied to your sleep cycle and what you ate that week. Something about when your brain gets into a flow state it just keeps rolling if you don't interrupt it. Sounds like you hit that groove where the ideas were already lined up in your head even if you didn't know it. I had a similar thing happen a few years back where I wrote three decent short stories in a row after months of nothing. No idea why it started or why it stopped. Sometimes I think it's just luck and you gotta ride it while it lasts.

My creative streaks always hit when I've forgotten to do laundry for two weeks.
