I dropped $75 on a 'premium' prompt generator subscription that just recycles the same five ideas.

Has anyone found a better way to get fresh, specific prompts without paying a monthly fee?

RIGHT? @schmidt.rose nailed it, free stuff is usually better than paid stuff everywhere nowadays.

Honestly, I just browse free writing blogs. They have way more variety than those paid things ever did.

Way more variety" sounds like you're trying to make a hobby sound like a big deal.
