I finally started keeping a small notebook of overheard lines, and a kid at the zoo on Tuesday gave me the best prompt yet
I was standing by the penguin exhibit in Omaha when a little boy told his mom he wished the birds could fly backward so they could visit yesterday. I wrote it down in my car and turned it into a whole story about a town where time runs the other way. Does anyone else collect random bits of talk like this, or do you build prompts from pictures instead?
