I used to think writing prompts from a random word generator were just silly...

But I tried one from a site called Seventh Sanctum that gave me 'a lighthouse, a broken compass, and a jar of honey'. I wrote a whole short story about a keeper in Maine trying to find his way home. Has anyone else had a prompt from a weird source that actually worked for them?

Yeah, I was just on Seventh Sanctum last week, black.wesley. I needed a quick name for a goblin merchant in my game. That site is a time capsule. The design hasn't changed since like 2005, and it still runs on those old random tables. I miss when the whole web felt like that, just weird little tools made for fun. It's comforting to know it's still there, churning out bizarre fantasy names.
