Jotted down a prompt from a random conversation on the bus

I was riding the 42 bus downtown yesterday and heard two guys arguing about whether a ghost town could have a functioning coffee shop. It got me thinking, what if the last resident stayed just to run it for the tourists who never came. I wrote it down in my notes app right there. Has a random overheard line ever sparked a whole story idea for you?

Wait is this really that deep though? I mean I've definitely overheard weird stuff on buses but I just laugh about it and move on.

Oh, I hear you Stella904, but for me it was deeper than just a laugh. I used to brush off those weird bus conversations too until one day I overheard a woman talking about how her adult son was secretly living in her crawlspace and she was too scared to say anything. Turns out she was serious and needed help finding resources. After that I started paying more attention because you never know when someone is quietly begging for help in plain sight.
