Logged 100 story prompts in a notebook since January and the 100th one was a grocery receipt
I started writing one prompt a day in a cheap spiral notebook back in January, mostly at my kitchen table after work. Last Friday I hit number 100 and realized the best prompt I had written all month came from a crumpled receipt in my coat pocket, a line about a cashier who hums the same four notes to every customer. The other 99 were mostly dragons and haunted houses that I will never touch again. I dont think I learned some big lesson, I just noticed my good ideas show up when I stop trying so hard. Does anyone else keep their prompts in one spot, or do you scatter them across phone notes like I used to?
