That one week last fall where everything I wrote was garbage

I had this week back in October where every single prompt I tried to write turned into a mess. Started with a simple "write about a secret" prompt and ended up with a 3 page rant about my cat's litter box habits. Then I tried a romance prompt and somehow got stuck describing the carpet texture for four paragraphs. By Thursday I was staring at a blank screen for 45 minutes just trying to figure out what word came after "the". I usually churn out 3-4 decent pieces a week but that week I had zero keepers. The weird part is that I wasn't even stressed or anything, my brain just refused to cooperate. Has anyone else hit a wall like that where your writing voice just completely vanishes for a few days?

Wait, is having a bad week with your writing really that big of a deal? Sounds like you just needed a few days off honestly.

My buddy Dave had a week like that with his woodworking, couldn't cut a straight line to save his life.
