Warning: I was stuck on a character for weeks until I used a random name generator from a 90s website
Some folks say that's lazy writing, but hearing 'Kaelen Vance' instantly gave me a backstory. Do you ever use tools like that, or do you think it kills the creative process?

Honestly used to roll my eyes at name generators lol. Thought real writers just knew their characters. But man, getting stuck on a blank page kills more creativity than any tool. Sometimes you just need that little push, like a weird name sparking a whole person. Now I keep a few bookmarked for when my brain feels empty.

Totally get that! I hit the same wall with place names all the time. I'll just scroll a generator until something clicks and builds the whole setting.

What helps me is using generators that mix real first names with random last names. Stumble on a combination like "Rita Gallagher" and suddenly you have a whole backstory in your head. Beats staring at a blinking cursor for 20 minutes. I've got three different tabs saved for those days when my brain refuses to cooperate.
