A coworker's 10 minute password story made me check my own setup

Last Tuesday I overheard this guy in the break room talking about how his aunt got locked out of her bank account because she used the same password for everything and someone got it from a forum leak. He spent like 10 minutes on the phone with support trying to sort it out. That got me thinking, I checked my own passwords that night and found I was reusing one across three accounts, including my email. Have any of you had a close call like that, or do you actually use a password manager for everything?

The part about her losing access to her bank account really hit me, because everyone talks about hackers getting your info, but nobody mentions how much time you lose just dealing with support. I mean, I don't use a manager either, but what got me thinking is how many of my passwords are tied to old email addresses I barely check anymore. That's the real trap, you think you're safe because you changed something, but the recovery option is still that old inbox. Maybe it's just me, but I bet half the people here have a password on some ancient account that leads straight to their main email if someone digs enough.
