Am I the only one who noticed my spam calls dropped to almost zero after I did one small thing?
So I kept a little tally on my fridge for the past 4 months, mostly out of annoyance, and my spam calls went from around 31 a month down to 6. I did not get a new number or anything that dramatic. What I did was start answering unknown numbers with a short recorded greeting instead of saying hello, because a friend who works at a bank in Denver mentioned that a lot of these robocall systems log a live human voice and resell that as a confirmed active line. Once I switched, the calls fell off a cliff within about 3 weeks. I also stopped saying yes or pressing any number to be removed, since that just seems to confirm someone is home. Your mileage may vary here, maybe it was a coincidence, but the drop was big enough that I noticed. Has anyone else tried the recorded greeting thing, and did it stick long term or did the calls creep back?
