Finally got my team to use password managers after 3 years of trying
Last week my boss in Denver finally caved and let us roll out Bitwarden to the whole office of 28 people. Three years of me pushing for it, and one phishing test that almost got our CFO sealed the deal. Took about 2 hours to migrate everyone, and now the shared account logins are actually tracked. Anyone else had to wait for a near miss before management took basic security seriously?
It's funny how we do this with everything, not just passwords. People won't fix the leaky roof until the ceiling caves in, or swap the smoke alarm battery until it starts chirping at 3am. The near miss is what finally makes the risk feel real, and sometimes that's just how humans are wired. Better late than never, right?
