Got phished by a fake FedEx text on Saturday

I was outside trimming hedges for a client in Naperville when I got a text saying my package needed re-routing. I clicked the link and put in my email and password before I realized the URL was off by one letter. My bank called me an hour later about a $200 charge at a Best Buy in Florida. I froze my card and changed every password I own, but man I felt dumb for falling for it. Has anyone else been hit by these shipping scams lately?

Look, I mean I get being careful and all, but maybe people are a little too quick to blame the scam. Those FedEx messages look pretty legit if you're already expecting something. I kind of think if you weren't waiting on a package you wouldn't even click the link. And the bank catching it so fast means the system works, right? The real problem is probably that people get so many delivery updates these days it's hard to tell what's real anymore. Maybe it's just me but that's on the delivery services for spamming us all the time.

Jokes on me, I almost fell for that text twice in the same day.
