I finally stopped using the same password for everything after my friend called me out
My buddy Mark, who works IT in Denver, saw me logging into my email and my bank with the same password last week and said 'dude, if one site gets hacked, they all go down.' That hit me hard, so I spent Sunday setting up a password manager and making unique ones for all my accounts. Has anyone else made the switch to a password manager and found it way easier than they thought?

Honestly, it's wild how we all do that with passwords, and then apply the same 'one thing for everything' logic to other stuff. I used to have one jacket for every single occasion until I ruined it at a bonfire. Now I see it everywhere, like using the same tired excuse to get out of plans. Making different passwords felt like a chore, but it's just like having the right coat for the rain or the snow. It's a tiny bit of effort that saves you a huge headache later.

That jacket thing is a perfect way to put it. It's not just about the one thing breaking, it's about how using the wrong tool for the job makes everything harder every single time. A bad password is like wearing a winter parka in summer, it's clumsy and makes you avoid doing what you need to do. The manager just gives you the right key for the right lock instantly, so you stop putting off updating your software or checking that account you never use. It removes the friction that made you lazy in the first place.
