Lost my work laptop at an airport lounge and the built-in tracking saved me

I left my company laptop at a Delta lounge in Atlanta last month and panicked for a solid 10 minutes before remembering Windows had a 'Find My Device' feature I never bothered setting up. Turned out it was already on by default through my work account, so I logged into the Microsoft portal and saw it was still in the terminal. Has anyone else had a close call like this and realized they were relying on a setting they didn't even know existed?

...and that reminds me of the time I thought my phone was stolen but it was just wedged between my car seat and the console for three days. I was ready to call the cops and everything, tracking apps showing it at my home address the whole time. Felt real dumb when I found it during a deep clean of my back seat. At least your tracking actually helped you out, mine just made me mad at myself for being a slob.

oh man i feel this so hard. i did the same thing once but with my wallet, i tore my whole house apart for like two hours, was about to cancel all my cards and everything. finally found it in a jacket pocket i hardly ever wear, hanging in my own closet. after that i just made myself a little drop zone by the door where i always put my keys and phone and wallet right when i get in. helped a ton, i still lose stuff sometimes but not as bad.
