Pro tip: Use a dedicated browser just for banking and bills
I got tired of worrying about sketchy extensions or random sites stealing my login cookies. So I set up a separate Firefox profile that I only use for my bank, credit cards, and utility accounts - nothing else. No extensions, no history saved, and I never browse random stuff in there. Has anyone else tried isolating financial accounts like this?

Totally did the same thing with a Chrome profile. Only use it for paypal and my credit union login. Feels way safer knowing my banking stuff has zero chance of getting mixed up with some random browser garbage.

Doesn't the separate browser stop you from accidentally clicking some random ad and ending up on a fake banking page though? I always thought it was overkill but honestly this makes sense to me now.

I mean, "feels way safer" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting there. You're still logging into the exact same websites over the same internet, so if your bank gets hacked or you fall for a phishing link in that separate browser, you're just as screwed. Seems like a ton of extra hassle for zero actual protection.
