That week in October when my password manager saved me from a huge phishing scam

I got an email last Tuesday that looked EXACTLY like my bank asking me to verify a $500 transaction. I clicked the link but before I typed anything, my password manager popped up saying 'no saved login for this site.' That's when I noticed the URL was off by one letter - bank0famerica instead of bankofamerica. Called the real bank and they confirmed it was a scam. Has anyone else had their password manager catch something like this before you made a mistake?

Damn that's scary close. Did you have a moment of panic before you noticed the URL? My password manager saved me from something similar last year - an email about a package delivery that needed tracking info. The site looked totally real but my password manager just stayed blank when I clicked in the box. That's when I saw the domain was like "fedex-delivery-verify" dot something. It's crazy how good these scammers are getting with the fake sites.

Ask @evac72 what tipped them off first about that fake fedex site. Was it the URL looking weird or something else? Cause I nearly fell for one that had "usps-claim" in the address and the whole page looked spot on except the login button was slightly off center. Little details like that are the only reason I caught it.
