TIL reusing passwords across accounts is basically handing hackers the keys to my whole digital life

I found out last week when a friend got phished on a sketchy forum, and the same email/password combo unlocked their Netflix, Amazon, and even their bank's login page (they got lucky nothing got drained), so why do we keep doing this even though we know better?

The same email/password combo unlocked their Netflix, Amazon, and even their bank's login page" - so after that close call, what's actually stopped you from changing your own password habits?

Bro @ryan_nguyen that's the thing man, I was exactly the same way until my buddy's story freaked me out. I just bit the bullet and got a password manager, one of the free ones, but the real game changer was using the "strong password" generator every time I sign up for something new. Now I don't even know what my Netflix password is, it's just some random jumble of letters and numbers. My bank and email are the only ones I actually remember, and those have different passwords too. It took me like an afternoon to change everything but now I don't lose sleep over it lol.
