Tried a free password manager and got locked out of my own accounts for 4 days

I used Bitwarden because everyone said it was fine, but after an update it forgot my vault key and I couldn't access any logins. Has anyone else had a free tool screw them over this bad or was I just unlucky?

Vault key is actually your master password (just saying), not a separate thing.

Yeah totally with you on that @taylor_mitchell80, I thought vault key was some separate code too until I actually set things up. It's confusing at first but makes sense once you realize it's just your master password.
