My $8 carabiner clip failed on a Tuesday and my keys are still in a storm drain
Walking to my car after work in Chicago last Tuesday, the gate on my cheap aluminum carabiner just bent open and my whole keyring slid off into a sewer grate. I stood there for 20 minutes trying to fish it out with a stick before giving up and calling a locksmith. The clip was maybe 4 months old and I never dropped it or stressed it, it just popped. Now I'm looking at steel locking carabiners but I don't want to overpay. Anyone have a clip that's lasted more than a year of daily use?
