6 months of daily sketching and the before/after is wild

I started drawing for 15 minutes every morning back in February just to have something creative to do before work. Yesterday I compared my first sketch of a coffee mug to one I did this morning and the difference in proportions and shading is honestly embarrassing to look back on. Anyone else keep old stuff just to see if you're actually getting better or is that just me?

My first sketch from January 1st was a bird that looked like a potato with a beak, and my latest one actually looks like something that could fly. It's wild how you don't notice the daily little improvements until you stack a few months together. That same thing applies to a lot of stuff I've noticed like learning to cook or even just getting better at small talk with coworkers. You just gotta trust the process and keep the receipts.
