He was talking to his buddy by the squat rack on Tuesday and said keeping a log makes it feel like a job. I get that, I really do. But I started writing down my squats, bench and deadlift in a 2 dollar notebook back in March, and last week I hit 225 on bench for the first time since high school. I only know that because I can flip back and see the number from day one. There was no big moment, just small lines piling up. If I hadn't written it down I would've quit around week 3 when nothing felt like it was changing.
So no, I don't think the log kills the fun. I think it's the reason I'm still going. Anyone else keep a paper log, or am I the last guy not using an app?
