Finally got my basil plant to stop wilting after a simple change
My basil in the kitchen window kept drooping every afternoon, and I was about to give up. I read that moving it just 2 feet back from the glass stopped the direct midday sun from scorching it. It perked up in a single day and looks great now. What other small changes have saved your houseplants?

That's a smart fix with the sun. My spider plant had brown tips for months. I switched from tap water to leaving a jug of water out overnight before using it. The chlorine evaporates. New growth came in perfect. Have you tested your tap water's effect on other plants?

Yeah, that jug trick works on my peace lilies too.

Don't you think the chlorine thing is a bit overblown though? Most tap water has such tiny amounts in it, and peace lilies are pretty tough plants anyway. @jenkins.wade, your lilies probably would have been fine either way, that jug trick might just be placebo for us plant nerds. I've had spider plants in straight tap water for years and they grow like weeds, brown tips or not. Maybe the real issue is more about humidity or overwatering than the water source itself.
