Gave roasted chickpeas a shot after years of ignoring them...

I always figured roasted chickpeas were just some sad snack for people who gave up on chips. But my coworker brought a batch into the break room on Friday and I grabbed a handful just to be polite. They were actually crunchy and had this smoky paprika flavor that was way better than I expected. I asked her how she did it and she said she just drains a can, tosses them in oil and seasoning, then bakes at 400 for 30 minutes. I tried it myself last night with some garlic powder and cayenne and they came out perfect. Now I'm wondering what other snacks I've been wrong about all these years. Anyone else find a food they hated for no reason?

It's wild how good those things are when you actually get a decent batch. Makes you wonder what other boring snacks are actually hidden gems.
