Heard a mom at the park tell her kid 'good job trying' instead of 'good job winning'
I was sitting on a bench at Miller Park this morning. A little girl ran over after a race, all out of breath. Her mom didn't say she won. She said, 'I saw how hard you ran. Good job trying.' It hit me. I always focus on finishing my to-do list perfectly. Today, I just tried to fix a wobbly shelf. It's still a bit crooked. But I tried. How do you guys handle when something doesn't turn out perfect?

Sometimes you just need to get the shelf straight.

What do you mean by that, @jessica397? Are you saying you just have to fix the physical shelf, or is this about something bigger? I feel like when stuff is crooked in my house it makes my whole brain feel messy. Getting one thing straight can make everything else seem easier to handle. It's like a small win that starts a better trend for the whole day.

Can a straight shelf fix a crooked week?
