I just lost an hour on a 'quick' budget app setup

I saw an ad for a new budget app that promised to sync with my bank in five minutes. I downloaded it, spent forty-five minutes entering all my account info and categories, and then it crashed. When I opened it again, all my data was gone. That's an hour of my Sunday I'm not getting back. Has anyone found a simple app that actually saves time instead of wasting it?

That "five minute sync" promise is almost always for a basic link, not the full setup you did. The initial data entry is the real time sink with any of them.

The marketing also assumes your existing data is clean and ready to go. In my experience, that's rarely the case and adds hours of cleanup before you even start the sync. The promise skips the most painful part of the process.
