Morning walk streak at 47 days, weirdest thing happened today

I started walking 20 minutes before work back in September, just around the block in my neighborhood in Austin. Last week I hit 47 days in a row and today this older guy who gardens on 5th Street actually waved at me first. That tiny thing made me feel like I belong to the rhythm of this place now. It's funny how my brain used to fight the alarm at 6:40 but now it just gets me up without any argument. I even notice different flowers blooming week to week and which houses have dogs that bark at me. Has anyone else found that a routine this small starts to feel like a secret handshake with your own street?

47 days and still can't wave back without looking like a robot, jealous.
