Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say 'busy is a choice' and it hit me weird
I was waiting for my latte this morning and this guy on his laptop said to someone 'busy is just a choice you keep making.' At first I thought he was being rude but then I sat there thinking about it. I've been telling everyone I'm swamped but really I just keep saying yes to stuff I don't need to do. So today I said no to a favor for a coworker and it felt kind of good actually. Anyone else ever have a random comment from a stranger stick with you like that?

Busy is a choice sounds true on the surface but it's not always that simple. Some people have legit things stacked on them like kids or extra shifts they can't skip. If you're lucky enough to have the option to say no then yeah, it's a choice you're making. But not everyone has that room to move.
