Spent 45 minutes trying to open a jar of pickles yesterday
I was just standing there in the kitchen twisting and twisting, then my partner walks over and taps the lid on the counter once and it opened right up. Felt pretty dumb but also glad I didn't have to ask for help. Anyone else have a simple trick that made you feel kinda silly after?

the rubber grip mats are a total game changer too, i got a set from the dollar store and now i barely have to struggle with anything. idk why it took me so long to think of just using something with more grip instead of just brute forcing it.

That dollar store idea is smart, I never thought of that. But you know what else works that nobody talks about? Those silicon trivets you use for hot pots. They're super grippy on both sides so you can wedge one under almost anything. I keep one in my junk drawer specifically for opening pickle jars and that stupid twist-off cap on the maple syrup. Even works on my faucet handle that keeps slipping.
