Unpopular opinion: people tighten their lug nuts way too much with impact guns

I watched a guy at the shop crank his truck lugs down until the gun chattered three times. Hand snug with a torque stick would save his rotors and his back next tire change. Anyone else see this all the time?

@jordan305 a buddy of mine tried that once and his rotors looked like a potato chip after one track day.
