Warning: I found out something about houseplants that goes against the usual advice
I was reading a study from the University of Florida today. It said that for some common plants, like snake plants, you can actually water them every 4 to 6 weeks in winter, not every 2 weeks like most blogs say. I tried it on my own plant for the past month and it looks healthier than ever. I think the common "little and often" tip can lead to overwatering. Has anyone else tried stretching out their watering schedule with good results?

Totally agree about overwatering being the real killer. My snake plant was looking sad until I started ignoring it for weeks at a time. It's thriving now on pure neglect.
