Co-founder ghosted after we burned $18k on a dead prototype

We built a rental furniture app in Austin, spent $18k on a prototype that never got past beta. My co-founder stopped answering calls three weeks ago, right after our first real user complained about a broken delivery. I tried reaching his family, even his old roommate, but nothing. Now I'm stuck with the code, the hosting bill, and a lease on a tiny office. Has anyone else had a partner vanish mid-launch, and how did you untangle the legal side alone?

Did you check your operating agreement for a buyout or dissolution clause? That saved my skin when my last partner bailed, just had to send a certified letter to his last known address and file the paperwork solo.
