Shoutout to that coffee shop startup in Austin that burned through $200k in 6 months
I visited Austin last month and stopped by this place called BrewSync that was supposed to be this high tech coffee subscription and roasting operation all in one. The space was amazing, really nice equipment, but I walked in at 10am on a Tuesday and there was nobody there except the owner on his laptop. He told me they had raised some money and spent almost everything on custom roasting software and fancy machines before they even had regular customers. I sat there for 20 minutes and only one other person came in. It reminded me of so many startups I have seen where people build something cool first and forget to ask if anyone actually wants to buy it. Has anyone else walked into a failed startup space and seen the warning signs before they even closed down?

Is that just how people act when they get money, like buying every toy before figuring out the game?
