The food truck I backed in Portland died in 11 weeks and I still have 200 pounds of taco seasoning
Three years ago this month I put $6,000 into my cousin's taco truck down on SE Hawthorne. He had this whole plan. Named it after his dog, painted it green, printed menus with a typo on them.
Week one he parked in a spot that got towed by 9am. Week four the generator quit and he did the whole lunch rush off one camp stove. Week seven he found out the commissary he was using shut down with zero notice. Week eleven he sold the truck to a guy named Doug for $2,800 and Doug painted over the dog and now it sells hot dogs.
The taco seasoning is real though. Big restaurant supply boxes. I've been putting it on eggs for 3 years and I'm maybe a quarter through it. My wife says it tastes like regret, which is fair, but it's still seasoning.
Anyone else get stuck with inventory from a dead business? What did you do with 200 pounds of anything?
