Took 9 months to get our first 100 beta users, not 6 weeks

I kept reading about founders who got waitlists overnight, so I assumed we were doing something wrong. In reality it was 9 months of cold emails, 3 redone landing pages, and a lot of ignored messages. Has anyone else found that real traction just takes longer than the posts suggest?
