Changed my mind about using synthetic oil in my old Cummins

I was always told by my old boss that synthetic oil was a waste of money on high mileage diesels. Figured it would just leak out faster. Then I rebuilt a 5.9 in a 2002 Dodge 2500 for a customer up in Denver, and he insisted on Rotella T6 from the start. After 15,000 miles, the oil analysis came back way cleaner than any conventional I've seen, and no new leaks. Anyone else had a similar experience switching over on an older engine?

Respectfully disagree. Old engines often run better with good synthetic.
