Dropped $600 on a used injector puller set and it barely worked once

I bought this injector puller kit off a guy on Craigslist in Phoenix for $600 because the price seemed too good. First time using it on a 6.0 Powerstroke the slide hammer seized up after three hits. Turns out the threads were stripped on the adapter and now I gotta figure out how to get the injector out anyway. Should have just bought the Matco set for $1200 new but I got cheap. Has anyone else had luck with those budget puller kits or am I the only one who got burned by one?

That 6.0 Powerstroke is a beast when it comes to stuck injectors. I had a similar headache back in 2015 with a Cummins 5.9 in a Dodge truck I was flipping. Bought a cheap Harbor Freight slide hammer set for $80 and it twisted right off on the first pull. Ended up drilling out the old injector with a broken extractor bit stuck in it. Took me three days with a torch and a lot of PB Blaster to get it all out. Still have the scars on my knuckles from that job.

Just glad you were flipping a Dodge and not something with a Duramax, those are even worse once they rust in.
